How does ESCA help Inyo or Mono County residents who are dealing with cancer?

We have a Cancer Resource Center that has informative educational material on many types of cancers and wellness related publications/brochures.
We can possibly give you financial aid.
ESCA has information on other types of resources or organizations that may provide you with financial aid.

Do I need to make an appointment to speak with you?

No, our resource center is open Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Thursday 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. If you would like to schedule an appointment please call

How do I apply for financial aid?

Download the English version or Spanish version of our assistance application and send to the PO BOX address listed on our contact page. If you do not have access to a computer, you can visit our resource center to obtain one.

Do I qualify for financial aid?

Yes, if you are suffering from a financial hardship as a result of your cancer treatment. ESCA has limited funds and numerous applicants each month. Please consider carefully the financial expenses that you need help with.

Can I send copies of medical bills that I received from cancer treatments?

Yes, if this is what you are requesting help with.

Can I send copies of cost of living expenses such as utility bills, grocery bills, and rent?

Yes, if you need help with these types of expenses due to loss of income/financial hardship. We need copies of your bills or receipts. ESCA can make payment directly to the utility company or landlord. Please have receipts well organized. For example, do not send a manila envelope full of various receipts.

When will my application be reviewed, and when will I be notified that I was eligible for aid?

The first Monday of each month all applications are reviewed. You will be notified within ten days after the first Monday of each month if you were found to be eligible for aid. Please send your application to the PO BOX address listed on our contact page at least one week before the first Monday of each month to be assured your application is included on the monthly agenda.

Do you have a cancer support group?

At this time, we have an ongoing cancer support group, Cancer Conversations, being held at our resource center, (corner of Birch and Grandview) Bishop, CA 93514. Meetings are monthly on the first Tuesday from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Caregivers and loved ones welcome.
